MISHAWAKA, IN, June 24, 2009 (Press Release) - On April 27th Jamil Packaging Corporation set a milestone for productivity by converting 111,575 boxes in 7.38 hours on their Martin 924 Midline flexofolder-gluer. Even more impressive was the fact that this entailed seven order changes within that same shift with an average run speed of 15,118 boxes per open hour. For this achievement Jamil has earned a coveted Martin Platinum Award.
Jamil President David A. Diroll, General Manager David M. Diroll, Plant Supervisor Dave Zimmerman along with Plant Manager Randy Miller and crew accepted the award from Mike D'Angelo and Brian Kentopp from Bobst Group North America.
In just the previous month the same crew, using the same 924 flexo-folder-gluer, earned a Martin Silver Award for producing 86,269 boxes in a single shift, further proof of Jamil Packaging's commitment to productivity.
"Reaching this Patinum level of production with this number of changes is quite a feat," stated Bobst Group's D'Angelo. "While all Martin machines are engineered and built for high quality and high speed operation, it is the crew that has used this tool to achieve this stellar level production. We're proud to be a partner with a company as motivated and efficient as Jamil Packaging Corporation."
